POUR: WiFi connected drink dispenser

Designing a smart device to track consumption of drinks for IRIS.

The challenge

In 2016 I was asked by the Amsterdam team of IRIS Worldwide to develop a device that could track the consumption of drinks at a local bar as part of an advertising campaign for a large manufacturer of spirits.

The process

Ideation, concept generation, CAD work, prototyping, coding.

The team

This project was done as a freelance project. Main stakeholders from IRIS were Marc Muusse and Paul Greenep.

The result

Te “POUR”smart bottle cap is a WiFi connected, battery powered, retro-fit solution that you can place aound the neck of any long-neck bottle. A tilt sensor registers each individual pour of the included measuring dispenser cap and sends it over WiFi to a spreadsheet where in depth analysis can be done. The concept was turned into a fully functioning prototype.
